The C3 was Nokia’s first Series 40 qwerty device. The device supported EDGE and Wi-Fi connectivity and a two- megapixel camera. It was available in three colours; golden white, slate grey and hot pink.
The phone included a “Communities” client, which provided home-screen access to Facebook and Twitter, as well as comprehensive e-mail support which was designed to help Nokia compete with entry-level social networking phones.
The C3 underlined Nokia’s significant scale advantages. Not only was the C3 the company’s lowest-cost qwerty phone at the time, the inclusion of Wi-Fi on the device, set it apart from alternatives.

The 1600 was part of a range that Nokia called its Ultrabasic series, released in June 2005. It was developed specifically for growth markets of China and India as well as targeting prepaid sales in mature markets. It went on to be one of the best-selling mobile phones of all time with sales of more than 130 million units.
The phone was designed with a particular emphasis on ease-of-use, delivering a user interface with animated graphical icons and large font sizes to make navigation as simple as possible for first-time mobile phone users. The phone also featured a speaking clock and alarm, which announced the time in a range of languages. The 1600 also had a ringtone composer which allows owners to create their own ringtones.
The device included a demo mode which delivered an on-screen visual guide to the main phone functions. The demo mode also allowed consumers to play the pre-installed games or hear the speaking clock without the need to insert a SIM card into the phone.

The phone was originally specified with a round display, but the inflexibility of the software on the device meant the V70 was eventually sold with a standard rectangular screen.
