The Motorola V70 can be regarded as the predecessor to Razr V3. It was a testament to Motorola’s skill in mechanical engineering, but it was also let down by its poor user interface. The phone’s success laid the groundwork for development and approval to proceed with the Razr.

The C3 was Nokia’s first Series 40 qwerty device. The device supported EDGE and Wi-Fi connectivity and a two- megapixel camera. It was available in three colours; golden white, slate grey and hot pink.
The phone included a “Communities” client, which provided home-screen access to Facebook and Twitter, as well as comprehensive e-mail support which was designed to help Nokia compete with entry-level social networking phones.
The C3 underlined Nokia’s significant scale advantages. Not only was the C3 the company’s lowest-cost qwerty phone at the time, the inclusion of Wi-Fi on the device, set it apart from alternatives.
The use of Series 40 on the C3 underlined the continued importance of the platform to Nokia.
